Enjoy Family Road Trips in These Chevy SUVs

If you’re looking for a family vehicle, consider a versatile Chevrolet SUV. Many models are available, and you and your kids can enjoy plenty of space, a smooth ride, and excellent off-road capabilities. Here are some of the best Chevy SUVs for family road trips.

Trailblazer

The 2021 Chevy Trailblazer is all-new. It has an agile, sporty look, and it can carry five people. A chrome or body-colored accent spans the grille, and the Chevy bowtie symbol is just above it. You’ll get a 3.5-inch driver information display, a 7-inch touch screen, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and audio and phone controls for the steering wheel.  Folding the rear seats provides 54.4 cubic feet of cargo space, and you can choose Normal, Sport, or Snow driving modes.

You can add an engine block heater, all-wheel drive, an off-road suspension, a hands-free power liftgate, a panoramic power sunroof, tinted windows, and a keypad for keyless entry. A heated 10-way power driver’s seat, remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a collapsible cargo organizer, a folding front passenger seat, an 8-inch touch screen, and wireless charging are also available.

Standard safety features include a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, 10 air bags, lane-keeping assistance, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with a following distance indicator, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and a security system. If you have teen drivers, you can limit their speed and make sure that driver assistance features stay on.

Equinox

The 2021 Equinox has a sleeker, more refined look than the Trailblazer. It comes with an acoustic windshield and active noise cancellation for a quiet ride, automatic high beams, active grille shutters, heated power side mirrors, 63.9 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded, and extra storage underneath the cargo floor. Models with all-wheel drive can conserve fuel by operating in two-wheel-drive mode.

Additional options include a hands-free power liftgate, assist steps, heated and cooled leather seats, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic power sunroof, and an 8-inch touch screen. You can also choose navigation, remote start, a universal home remote, dual-zone climate control, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The safety features are similar to those of the Trailblazer, and you can add blind spot monitoring, parking assistance, a 360-degree camera system, and a first-aid kit.

Suburban

The 2021 Suburban is ideal for large families, and it can fit up to nine people. It has a new design with a boxy, muscular profile, along with narrow headlights and a bold rectangular grille. This SUV comes with 144.7 cubic feet of cargo space, and it can tow up to 7,800 pounds. Its 5.3-liter V-8 engine makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque.

You can also select a 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque or a 3.0-liter turbo diesel motor that generates 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Other options include a 15-inch head-up display and a rear entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens.
