Three of the Best Pizza Joints You Can Drive to From Liberty, MO

Pizza makes everyone happy, so when the kids are clamoring, pop them into the Chevy Tahoe and head over to these great spots for the best pizza in Liberty, MO.

J&S

Drive over to Liberty Corners at 858 Route 291 to visit this popular local spot. They open at 11 AM daily and close at 10 PM from Tuesday through Saturday and at 9 PM on Sunday and Monday. The pizza here is great, with a crispy crust and lots of toppings and cheeses.

We can recommend any of their house-favorite pizzas, with the buffalo chicken being a personal favorite of ours. You can, of course, build your own pizza with their list of five different cheeses, nine different meats, and 14 kinds of veggies and fruits. Their loaded pizzas will feed an army, too. Try their J&S zesty meatballs for a delicious appetizer: they are dough stuffed with meatballs and pepper jack cheese, brushed with garlic butter, and served with a marinara sauce for dipping.

MOD Pizza

Build your own pizza so it’s exactly what you want. You will find them at 1912 Star Dr. They are open from 11 AM to 9 PM Sunday through Thursday and until 10 PM on Friday and Saturday. They do have some classics here, such as the classic cheese, or the Mad Dog, which is pepperoni, mild sausage, ground beef, and mozzarella cheese.

But the real draw is making your own pizza from their 40+ toppings and eight kinds of sauce. It would take all day to go through all the toppings, so we’ll just list off the sauces to get you started. In addition to your typical red and white sauces, you can also get barbecue, garlic, rub, extra-virgin, olive oil, a spicy Calabrian chili sauce, or a pesto sauce.

Nicky’s

This place is a truly local spot started by Nicky Haug, a Kansas City Northland native who started working in his own mother’s pizza place at the age of 10. Nicky’s is at 9771 N Cedar Ave in Kansas City and is open from 11 AM until 11 PM Monday through Thursday, until midnight on Friday and Saturday, and until 10 PM on Mondays.

You will love it here, and you should start your journey with their house-made meatballs with cheese. They do amazing sandwiches, too, but the pizzas are what really draw us. They have a good gluten-free crust, an original, a thin crust, and even a cauliflower crust. You can get it made however you like, but we recommend the Mediterranean, which comes with garlic-infused oil, grilled chicken, red onions, feta and mozzarella, and Kalamata olives.
