When the two-row, five-person Chevy Trax made its debut almost a decade ago, drivers flocked to dealerships as they were sold on the crossover SUV’s compact size and affordable pricing. The 2021 models continue that tradition, despite Chevrolet eliminating the Premier trim, leaving just two trims to choose from. However, the 2021 Trax has several features that make it stand out above all others in its class, so use this guide to learn what you can expect from this SUV.

Excellent Fuel Economy

When compared to other vehicles in its class, the 2021 Trax attains above-average fuel economy numbers. The SUV has one engine option: a 1.4-liter turbocharged one that produces 138 horsepower. It comes mated with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive with its rear drum brakes comes standard, but you can opt for all-wheel drive and its four-wheel disc brakes in either of its two trims.

Comfortable Interior

On the outside, the Trax looks small, but don’t let that fool you. Its inside is more spacious than you would think. Front- and rear-seat travelers enjoy plenty of headroom, and those riding in the front can stretch their legs, which comes in handy especially during long drives. A manual four-way driver’s seat comes standard, but you can upgrade for a six-way power-adjustable seat. The base LS trim is adorned in cloth upholstery, while the LT trims have a combination of cloth and synthetic leather. Synthetic leather upholstery is available with the Premium Seat Package.

Spacious Cargo Area

If you plan on transporting items in the cargo area, the Trax has an abundance of space. Behind the rear seats, the SUV has 18.7 cubic feet of space. Folding down these 60/40 split-fold seats increases the space to 48.4 cubic feet. The SUV also has a convenient feature that allows you to fold down the front passenger seat flat. That way, you can transport items up to 8 feet in length inside the SUV.

Impressive Infotainment Features

To keep everyone connected, the 2021 Trax comes standard with the easy-to-use Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, along with a 7-inch touch-screen display. Front-seat travelers can also use physical controls to operate some of the functions. Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also comes standard. Stay connected by using the SUV’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot that brings fast internet access to up to seven devices. If you need to charge your devices, use one of the SUV’s two USB ports. Other standard features include Bluetooth, satellite radio, voice command, and a six-speaker audio system.

Sometimes the best way to experience all a vehicle has to offer is to get behind the wheel and take it out for a spin.
